“TRANSFORMING OUR WORLD”

INTRO:
In this message we’re going to focus on the third part of our mission statement – Transforming our World.

Only transformed people can transform their world.

Transforming our world is the primary reason we are still here on planet earth. Life is more fulfilling when we are doing what we were created for.


I. TRANSFORMATION SCRIPTURES.

A. We’re called to be transformed (Rom. 12:2).

B. We are transformed as we behold His glory (2Cor. 3:18).


II. TRANSFORMATION DEFINITIONS.

A. The Greek word for transformation is “metamorphoo”

     from which we get the word metamorphose. It means to

     change, transfigure (Mt. 17:2) or transform.

D. Metamorphosis is the word used to describe the

     transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly.

E. Implications: Supernatural change – a change of our

     nature, not just our behavior.


III. TRANSFORMATION CHURCHES (Greg Pagh).

A. Develop transformed followers of Jesus who are being

     used by God to transform their church, community and

     world.

B. Partner with the “Church of the City” which is made up of

     all believers in Christ in their geographic area.

C. Train, equip, commission and release their members to

     be ministers in the marketplace of everyday life.

D. Invest a growing percentage of their resources in mission

     and ministry beyond their walls with a goal of giving

     away more than they keep.

E. Implement biblical transformation “paradigms and

     principles” in order to see their cities transformed and

     the Great Commission fulfilled.


CONCLUSION:
Let’s be transformed people who transform our world. Let’s be a transformation church!
